Sweet Banana and Fresh Strawberry Rum Flambe on vanilla gelato
Ingredients
2 bananas, ripe but not soft
3 tbsp. Brown sugar
2 tbsp. Butter
dark rum
Vanilla gelato
1/2 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
Method
- Cut bananas into slices
- In a saute pan heat butter over medium heat
- Add brown sugar and blend into butter
- Add bananas and cook until warm throughout
- Add strawberries and cook an additional 1-2 minutes
- Add rum and light with a match to flambé
- Simmer for 1-2 minutes; mixture should slightly thicken
- In a bowl/ plate put a scoop of gelato and top with sweet banana and strawberry rum mixture .
