HEART SHAPED ,KAHLUA, CHOCOLATE CAKE , BOUND IN A RICH MAPLE MOUSSE, EMBOSSED WITH FRESH STRAWBERRIES SOAKED IN VODKA

Ingredients

250 ml pastry cream
100 ml vodka
50 ml pure canadian maple syrup
fresh mint, garnish
1 / 6x6 chocolate sponge
1 cup strawberries, sliced
75 ml kahlua



Method

  • Slice the chocolate sponge in half.
  • Using a heart shaped cutter, or a pattern, cut 8 hearts. (4 per each side).
  • Put aside.
  • In a bowl add pastry cream, maple syrup. Gently fold in.
  • Brush heart shaped cake with kahlua . Cover with plastic wrap and put aside
    Place sliced strawberries in a bowl, add vodka, stir and let sit for at least 15 minutes. You can soak strawberries over night if so desired
  • Place a heart shaped sponge onto the plate, spread the mousse mixture over. Top with sliced strawberries
  • Top with another layer of cake.
  • Garnish with fresh mint .
  • You can drizzle melted chocolate around the plate and the chocolate cake if desired.
  • Serves 4.
